Flintoff, Andrew
English cricketer. A hard-hitting batsmen and a fearsome bowler, he made his Test debut in 1998. His propensity to hit boundaries while batting, as well as his straight-talking personality, gained him much popularity with the crowds. In 2005 he was named Player of the Series as England regained the Ashes from Australia for the first time in 16 years. He captained England for the first time in February 2006 and led the team throughout the disappointing 2006-07 Ashes series.
